About the Instructor:
I provide purposeful dance classes and retreats, mindful movement for Seniors, and grounding mindfulness programs for kids, since 2007. Inspired by a class called Yoga Booty Ballet®, while living in Los Angeles, I found myself in a workout class that was rigorous, sweaty, and also, somehow-- a relief. Inspired by the duality of meditation and dance I was experiencing, I began a fortuitous longtime mentorship with teacher and YBB creator, Gillian Clark. After leaving a line development job in shoe design, and without a prior dance background, I was inspired enough to develop a flourishing dance community throughout L.A. Brilliant people came together, and we created what felt like a movement. As Head of Yoga Booty Ballet teacher trainings worldwide, I've helped certify over 100 others in L.A., NYC, and Buenos Aires, to build dance communities of their own. Over the years, my path of wellness education led to advanced study of Hatha yoga with Ganga White and Tracey Rich, spiritual study with Rev. Michael B. Beckwith, and sound therapy study with Jamie Ford. I developed a chair yoga program at a senior living facility, and found sound therapy to be helpful for those struggling with dementia. In 2015, I moved to New York City and arduously re-paved a path for purposeful dance communities and Senior Sound Therapy in Manhattan and Brooklyn. In 2017, I was so proud to be ranked as one of NYC's top 10 dance fitness instructors, by Classpass. Continuing to appreciate the broad effects of dance and sound, I also found new understanding within my own pregnancy and postpartum period. Now in Denver, my path has taken a wild turn, attempting to bridge what I have learned professionally with my practical life as a mom. What I've noticed from this angle is how much room there is in the life of a kid, for grounded calm—and how much interest there is in all of us adults, to rediscover it, too.
